1.     The relationship between the title of the plays and the stories are
-       A street car named desire
The relationship between the title and the plays :
In the play a street car named desire , that play takes place on the desire street then the one of the characters in the play, Stanley is working in a repair place named desire.

-       A cat on a hot tin roof
The relationship between the title and the play :
In the play A cat hot tin roof, Maggie is one of the character in the play, his husband named Brick called her a cat, she wants to have all of Big Daddy’s wealth then it’s like a cat on a hot tin roof

-       The glass menagerie
The relationship between the title and the play :
In the play The Glass Menagerie, this related to one character of this play, Laura. Laura is an unconfident woman, she is crippled, she is like a piece of her own glass collection.

2.    Background of the plays :
-       A Street Car Named Desire
The background of the play a street car named desire. Tennessee William is a gay, he ever lived in the New Orleans for continued his work, just like the located in the play that he created, he has a real friend named Stanley Kowalski who he fell in love with. So, he put that name on the play and the address in New Orleans into his play



-       A cat on hot tin roof
The background of the play, Tennessee William tries to describing about the real family life in American at the time. There are cruelty and destruction in the family life in American, so he describes and pour it into one of his play such as this play “a cat on hot tin roof”

-       The Glass Menagerie
The background of the play, Tennessee William inclined to express his mind about the physical problem at the 20 century. It’s about the problem of self-expression, self-identification and self-creation, we can find it in the play “the glass menagerie”

3.    The themes of those plays :
-       I think the theme of “A street car named desire” is a futility life of a woman.
A futility life of a woman refers to Blanch , she has futility life because, she  can’t organize her life well. She is alcoholic, she  got fired from her workplace as an English school teacher because she has a special relationship with 17 years old boy, it happens because she feels stress when she lost her husband who passed away, and in the end of the story, she got raped by Stanley who Stella’s husband then she entered to the hospital.

-       I think the theme of “A cat on hot tin roof” is The Crisis of a Big Family. It refers to the Big Daddy’s family who experience so many problem about their family life. They are rich family but Big Daddy’s son, Brick and Gooper. They fight for dominate all of Big Daddy’s wealth, so there are liar, greed, deception, relationship, and also homosexuality in the play.

-       I think the theme of “The Glass Menagerie” is Love. It refers to Laura who looking for her true love and her mother trying hard to make it happen. But Laura never confident, because she’s crippled, until there’s a time when she meet her school friend Jim, she loves him but actually Jim is already engaged to someone else.
